Edit

Unfortunately, due to terrible weather conditions and high winds of up to 70mph, the decision had to be taken to cut the final stage of this event short to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Despite this, I’d still like to offer massive congratulations to everyone who took part in this amazing event and their absolutely stellar achievements!

In partnership with Race Time Result, I provided technical support and monitoring while the event was in progress to assist in making sure that everyone had a safe and enjoyable time.

Unfortunately, due to horrendous weather conditions on the final stage with up to 70 Mile an hour winds, the Event Management Crew had little choice but to cut the final stage on Ben Nevis short for the safety of all.

Even so, the challengers raised an absolutely staggering £175,000 for the charity in this fantastic and challenging event. I and the Race Time Result team would like to offer a huge well done to everyone involved in the event. Amazing!

Changes With Race Time Result

Back at the beginning of 2022 I joined with Race Time Result as their GPS Tracking Manager to provide a high quality bespoke tracking service to event organisers and race directors across the UK.

Since then, and as the Events Industry continues to get back on it’s feet after a very difficult couple of years, things have got more and more busy for us. Most weekends a number of the team are out in a variety of locations to deliver both GPS Tracking and Race Timing Services to events across the country.

As things have continued to develop, there’s more and more work needed to be done behind the scenes and I’m delighted to announce that, from April 1st, my role with Race Time Result will be changing and I’ll be taking on additional work as their Race Timing & GPS Services Manager.

While I’ll still have a significant focus on the GPS Tracking services, this increased role will involve coordinating the maintenance, logistics and delivery of the timing services that the team offers.

After what has already been a very positive start to 2022, I’m really looking forward to being even more involved in this hugely exciting area of event support.

The South Downs Trek

A hundred and twenty walkers have not long left the start line of The South Downs Trek to help raise funds for St. Barnabas House Hospice Care. The Trek is an off-road marathon length (26.2 miles) walk across the beautiful South Downs.

With our live mapping and tracking services, I’m providing remote support with the team from Race Time Result to assist in making sure everyone has a fantastic day as they raise money for this worthy charity.

I’m on site at the finish line with the Race Time Result team, providing GPS monitoring and technical support while my colleagues are providing a superb timing service for each of the races.

The very best of luck to all the participants today! Have an awesome run!

The Cotswold Marathon

A hundred and fifty teams of Scouts and Guides are undertaking an adventurous night hike across the darkened Cotswold hills tonight for the 49th Cotswold Marathon!

With no pre-planned routes provided, this huge group of brave youngsters are navigating their own way to a series of checkpoints on one of three different course lengths of 10, 20 and 30 miles.

Using GPS tracking technology from Race Time Result and with me on call as technical support, Gloucester District Scout Council will be able to make sure that everyone stays safe and has a great night on their challenge!
