Miles To Go
The story of my endeavour to take on Forestry Englandโs challenge to bike the equivalent distance from Kielder Forest in Northumberland to Cardinham Woods in Cornwall by the end of October 2024.
450 miles with just one golden rule โ forest trails only.
My Challenge Story
Here you can read more about my #Forest450 Challenge adventures in a bit more detail.
My #Forest450 Challenge – Halfway There!
Ever so slightly behind schedule, but I’ve reached the halfway point of the Forestry England #Forest450 Challenge
The Forest 450 – First Ride
Having been inspired by the #Forest450 challenge, I took my first ride out through the stunning trails of Thetford Forest this evening.
Challenge Tracks
I’m using Outdoor Active to record all of my rides towards this challenge. If you’re curious as to where I ride, or perhaps want to find somewhere to ride yourself, then why not take a look.

Your challenge, your way
“Simply log a total of 450 miles however you want, or use the tracker we’ve created, by the end of October 2024. If it’s in the nation’s forests it all counts, any kind of mountain biking or cycling.
Build up a couple of off-road miles every day or get to the ultimate milestone with longer rides. Cover the distance in the same forest on the same trail, on multiple trails or discover a new trail destination. Take on a solo mission or bring friends and family along for the rides.
When you’re done, celebrate your incredible achievement by ordering an exclusive Forest 450 finisherโs medal. Enter our competition and be in with a chance to win an amazing prize too.”

Note: Whilst it’s free to complete the challenge, it’ll cost ยฃ11.99 to claim your medal at the end
